A town square and some Danish food

Wednesday brought the third member of our trio to town. Minnie, a friend of Murat's from Doha and someone I had met briefly at the wedding, would be joining the fun. To celebrate her arrival and to dig more deeply into Danish cuisine, we went to a cute little town square.

It was lovely as the sun went down for the day.

The restaurant we went to was called Huks Fluks and had tables right out on the square.

I opted for the fish of the day, which was slaithe in a butter sauce with stewed tomatoes and boiled potatoes. The fish, which I had never heard about before, was excellent. It was a heartier type of fish, still a white fish but with flesh that separated in big chunks. It had a mild yet robust flavor that really picked up butter well.

My co-diners got black foot ham and a steak with chanterelles and potatoes (Minnie) and Norwegian king crab legs (Murat). The chanterelles were excellent as was the king crab, which had really sizable legs!

We couldn't help staying at out outdoor table as the sunset on a lovely day in Copenhagen. As we left, we were greeted with one of the stranger anti-smoking ads I've ever seen.
