As my cultural interlude for Saturday, I ventured to Jingshan Park. A nice little park - what makes it special is that is has (one of?) the highest points in Beijing, offering great views of the city and, especially, the Forbidden City, as it is due north of the former emperors' enclave. I started on the bottom, and saw, through some trees, a hilltop temple.
A quick climb up some steps and some rocks and I reached the summit. There, great views of the Forbidden City. Also, great views of Beijing smog!
It being a park, and a lovely day, I sat down and continued reading Serve the People for a couple of hours. My treat while descending: the beginning of a sunset.
