Henna night with the boys included

A quick flight, party-style, with most of us going to the wedding, and we had left Istanbul and transported ourselves to Mersin, on the southern coast of Turkey not too far from Syria. Murat's hometown, this is where the rest of the celebratory festivities would occur.

First on the agenda was henna night. With a handful of adaptations, this had been made co-ed. The gents first watched from above, having a quick dinner, while below the women did the henna ceremony and started the dance party. Soon, we had all joined together and were shaking the night away, including some excellent Turkish circle dancing.

Included in the night was a fish dinner with mezes. I managed to capture the fish on camera despite all the commotion.

I think it would take a long time for me to get sick of grilled fish, especially when there is fresh lemon and fresh arugula nearby. Arugula is everywhere here, usually translated as rocket, and it is spicy and so good. The lemon, of course, helps the fish taste excellent, not bland nor fishy. My dad, in one of several fish related shots of the trip, decided to show off his fine work with knife and fork.
